“The Conduit Fund's Live Aloha Daily Award is powerful in helping students recognize their own worth and understand how deeply others value them, which is fundamental for building resilience in youth and adults.”
—Connie Mitchell, Executive Director of the Institute of Human Services, Inc.
To be a conduit for good by supporting Hawai'i families with their housing and welfare needs, fostering self-sufficiency, and raising responsible youth.
In 2007, Suzanne Nakano attended a lunch that was supposed to be about the National Christian Foundation (NCF)—but instead of discussing NCF’s facilitation of wise giving, the conversation was only about Hawai’i’s beauty. Ironically, this unexpected detour sparked a deeper curiosity in Suzanne. She subsequently read about NCF and discovered a mission aligned with her heart.
Deeply moved by NCF’s impactful giving stories, she immediately opened a donor-advised fund: The Conduit Fund. She began to maximize her giving under NCF’s 501(c)(3) umbrella. Within months, she expanded her generosity by donating appreciated assets, increasing the fund’s reach and ability to serve those in need. The Conduit Fund has since built a legacy of hope, providing emergency relief grants and supporting over fifty local charities. Even beyond her lifetime, Suzanne’s commitment will endure—ensuring her impact lives on.
Called to Encourage and Give
I shared my journey of being called to encourage and give. It’s a story of faith, obedience, and the incredible ways God moves when we say “yes” to His prompting.
In this interview, I talk about the moments that shaped me for generosity, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I’d love for you to listen and share your thoughts!
What is your innate gift? Your I can't help myself?
